how do you sort the feature code list on the explorer II
so that you do not enter a code more than once.

why when entering new codes they go in where you were in the list in stead
of auto sorting ?

Calvin, i am using version 1.50.008 and when i type in a new code the
list is automatically sorted. In addition, if i try to create a code
that already exists i get a message stating that the code already
exists. So entering a code more than once can't happen. Let me know if
i have misunderstood your questions.

I am currently using 1.50.008.2 and yes it now does not let you enter a
dupicate code in the feature code list . but the list will still not sort .
when a code is added it stays were ever you were in the file when entered it
.. Is there a setting in Survce to fix this that I am missing.

thanks
Calvin

I tried it again using an existing code list that had a lot of codes. I
will say that the code table had categories in it before I converted
it to an fcl file for use with SurvCE. The list is not sorted as you
have indicated and there is no way that i can find to sort it. However
if i move to the middle of the code list and simply add a code, naming
it A, it goes to the top of the list. This indicates to me that it is
sorting when adding a code. I am not sure why yours wouldn't
automatically sort when adding a code. I do agree that we should have a
sort option. I will get this on the wish list.

That is what it is. It was a lager code file that I have been bringing
foward with each new release of SurvCE
I took the fcl file out to excel and sorted it then brought it back in and
now it seems when a new code is added it is moved to the right spot in the
list . I agree that there needs to be a sort command in Feature codes.

thanks
