.fcl to .fld

Postby Mike Hammer » Sun Aug 28, 2005 10:08 pm

I've been using a .fcl file to create line work in SurvCE, I just got
Carlson Survey, does anyone know how to convert fcl to fld (FTF.) I can't
seem to find a useful topic in the help menu. There is an FTF conversion
button in the dtd collectors menu, but it doesn't want to operate without
my DC connected. My DC is in the field whenver I think to attempt this.

Mike,

There isn't a routine to convert from fcl to fld currently. I tried a
few things before posting to see if i could come up with a work around
but none of them were really beneficial. The fld file has many more
options than does the fcl file. I would suggest using the code table by
crd routine inside of the field to finish routine in Survey. Set a crd
file current that has most or all of the descriptions used daily in the
field and then use the code table by crd option. This will bring in the
descriptions of the crd file into the program as codes. From here you
will need to edit the codes for layer, linetype, color, entity and the
like. Hope this helps.
