Remote horizontal and vertical locations

Postby Dan Lindsey » Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:52 am

Does anyone have or no of a way to collect H&V angle data only in SurvCe?
For that matter can one collect only distances?

I could do this in C&G and could compute the horizontal and vertical values
using the triangulation in the old dos version and in the new stuff as well.

Also SMI would compute these values in the field as they were collected but
I never was certain of how the data was handled and if it reported errors or
out of tolerance values.

As from above I am needing a reliable way to determine remote positions such
as tower heights, lighting rods, etc. Any object that cannot be measured
directly and without the use of a reflectorless instrument (I have had
varying degrees of success with these).

Thanks

Dan,
Try the REMOTE ELEVATION command found on the SURV tab. Let me know if
this is not what you are looking for.
