Traverse code in raw data file

Postby Wes Overall » Thu Feb 15, 2007 1:25 am

Does anyone know why my data collector stores my traverse shots as side
shots in the raw data file? I'm using a Carlson Explorer 600+ and after a
reading I hit traverse to move to my traverse point, but when I come back
to the office to process the rw5 file it has all my traverses as side
shots "ss" instead of traverse "tr". Thanks ahead of time

I've noticed the same thing. I just got an Explorer 600+ to replace a
TDS48 which shows the traverse line as "TR" line in the raw data. I'm
guessing the 600+ uses the "SS" on traverse lines because the SurvCE
software gives you the chance to move the setup immediately after the
traverse shot or to make more sideshots and move later. If the traverse
line was shown as a "TR" line then no further sideshots would be possible.
