SurvCE 2.0

Postby mj » Tue Mar 20, 2007 8:17 am

3-19-2007 - Still no release of much talked about upgrade. Had to remove
battery after lunch today. DC would no power up. Had to reboot this past
Friday. DC making a static and chirping sound. It also began scrolling
through menus on it's own. I purchased this DC on January 2007. Will accept
half money paid from Carlson to take it back.

Hey MJ, sounds like you just got a big yellow lemon. I would be pressing
Carlson hard for a warranty replacement. My Explorer 600+ hardware seems
to work just fine but I have had difficulties with the SurvCE 1.65
software.

I see where some people have got a look at the SurvCE 2.0 upgrade. Can we
go somewhere on the website to see a preview? I've not been able to find
any info. about SurvCE 2.0, just references to it from up to nearly a year
ago on this dissussion group. I'm hoping for some major improvements,
particularly in the backsight routine. X-port needs some major work also
in my opinion, too many prompts to save files that have not been altered
for one. We purchased an Explorer 600+ in January 2007 and have struggled
mightly to get it up and running productivly. Some features are great,
like the graphic interface, but many of the routines are very cumbersome
and do not flow smoothly while doing the heavy topo and contour surveys we
do most of the time. Heres's hoping SurvCE 2.0 will be a big improvement.

We had a similar problem. Does this only happen when the SurvCE program is
running? If not, you probably have a bad digitizer screen. One of ours had
that problem. It was worse when it was cold.

I hope this helps
