Set Collection and Least Squares Adjustment

Postby lewis » Sun Apr 22, 2007 9:43 pm

I am processing a traverse with sets of angles. The raw data shows 2
foresights (F1 and F2 codes) but the sideshot record only shows the first
foresight angle reading. The raw data is meaning the Zenith angles but not
the horizontal angles.
I assume it is a setting in the instrument (which I do not have in front
of me.)

My question is about the F1 and F2 codes. Are the angles the collected
foresight reading or the resultant foresight-backsight field angle?

Second issue is the foresight distance read. The raw data shows the first
reading and repeats it for the second reading. It does not take two
independent distances.

I've looked throught the manuals online and have some ideas but would like
some help from someone who had processed the raw data through a least
squares adjustment (preferably STARNET).

I would like to be able to have the collection and raw data include direct
and reverse horizontal and zenith angles and slope distances.

Many thanks to anyone who can respond!
