Backsight Routine

Postby mj » Fri Jun 08, 2007 8:28 am

The Backsight routine in 2.0 is just as frustrating as previous versions. If
you wish to get into some routines without taking shots, you cannot bypass
the backsight routine as you did previously. I do not understand why Carlson
insists on the software having so much control on this routine. On all other
softwares I have used; the user had control of the backsight routine
whenever he wanted. The long awaited release of this version is a big
disappointment.

Are you sure about that? When I go from one command to another I never get
put into the backsight routine. Actually when I move the instrument from
one control point to another and choose to stake out I have to tap on the
tripod icon to go into the backsight routine to change my occupy station and
bs station or else it assumes that I am on the last occupied station. There
might be some settings to do this. I am very pleased with the new version
especially the leveling routine and the surface quantity in the map view.

MJ,
this is new.
go to (EQUIP)>(CONFIGURE)>(PROMPT FOR TOTAL STATION SETUP).uncheck that
box and the program will run,for the most part without going through the
backsight setup;the program will still prompt to go to it,but you now have
control over it.
good luck.
