Resection Issues

Postby S6Lover » Thu Sep 27, 2007 3:48 am

I have been using a S6 for the past 2 years and fell in love with it the
first day. It was user friendly and could and would do anything you needed
it to do. I have been using a Topcon Robotic with Allegro SURVCE 1.6 then
1.something now 2.1 for a month now and have had nothing but problems. My
new problem today was Resecting. Trying to resect from 3 points, One being
a scribe on a wall, so reflectorless, the second being a rod with a 360
and a rod hieght of 1.55 and the third a glass with a hieght of 1.75. I
want to do 3 sets direct and reverse. How do I change prism constants? Do
I go into "SETS" settings and use bacsight and target for prism constants?
Which shot is the backsight and foresight when resecting? Figured out you
had to be in robotic mode to change prism constants in resection mode. Now
a Robotic settings window shows up on resection screen. You jave to click
it, then settings and now you change your prism types. So now I'm
resecting and input my first point ID. number, prism type and hieght, then
do the same for second and third. So now I'm done with my first round and
proceed to my second round and I have to enter in the pt. ID, prism
constant, and hieght again for each one and turn to each pt. The S6 after
completing your first round will auto turn to each point and remember its
prism constant and hieght for your second and third rounds. My question,
Is thier a way to "end my round" when done with first round and proceed to
shoot my next rounds without having to swith prism constants, hieghts,
reflectorless modes? Maybe I don't have a box checked somewhere or maybe
I'm in the wrong mode or maybe its not possible. I'm trying to give this
thing a chance but it doesn't seem user friendly. It claims to have all
these features to make things easier but you have to toggle between
screens and check boxes and swith modes and check settings then configure
and shoot. Thanks for letting me vent. Sorry about this blog and Hope it
doesn't get flagged.
