STAKEOUT LINE

Postby AQUATICROBOTIC » Tue Oct 16, 2007 10:25 pm

Could someone be so kind as to attempt to explain the Stakeout Line
routine in SurveCe 1.65. When using a total station I've noticed that
after defining the line and using the Point ON Line routine, with a 0
offset to the line and a perpendicular solution is desired the program
gives false "in" and "out" distances. For example after a shot it will
say in 1.5 feet. So, natuarally we measure 1.5 feet in and hold the same
line, take another shot and the program says something like 1.02 in.
What's the deal with this? How the hell is it arriving at these distances
and why am I an idiot. I despise TDS but god the routine as it appears
in TDS is much more user friendly

Try going into your configure reading settings and toggle the CL in/out to see if that gives you the readings you are looking for. You may also change your viewpoint and again look at whether the readings are the way you like.
