Carlson w/GPS question

Postby Dondo » Wed Dec 19, 2007 3:40 pm

Hello all. We've been using Carslon SurveCE 1.5 with a Topcon HiPer+ GPS unit using an AllergoCX data collector. I'm not real familiar with line codes in SurveCE but know enough to make them work (most of the time). I am fairly new with GPS surveying however. I'm wanting to know how do you get the linework created in the field to show up in AutoCAD LDD or Civil 3d? We can't seem to convert the rw5 files into fbk's or even get a RAW file. Does everyone using GPS just import crd files into Acad then bring in the linework as a dxf? I guess I'm just a little confused about how GPS surveying translates to fieldbooks and linework. My drafters want to use the line work as breaklines etc.

Sorry if I'm not clear on any of this. I guess my ultimate question is, in what format do you all transfer your data to a drawing?

Thanks for any help.
