Field to Finish Coding - Multiple Starts/Stops

Postby JG24CV » Sun Dec 23, 2007 3:24 am

I am looking for the correct way to code for multiple starts. I use +7 to begin a line. If I wanted to start a line for edge of pavement (EP) and a sidewalk (SW) how should that be coded? EP +7 SW+7 or EP SW+7 ?

If I wanted to end a line (-7) for the sidewalk and keep the edge of pavement line going, would it be EP SW -7 or will that end both of the lines?

I have been taking two shots in these cases, but would like to do it in one.

Also, is it possible to start a line as a curve? For example EP +7 PC

Thanks.

EP +7 SW+7 is correct and this can be done on one point. To end the SW when you take the shot to end it say EP SW -7. This should connect the EP and continue on and end the SW. I would not reccomend starting on a curve, you typically get a funny looking curve.
