Trouble taking readings from Sokkia Set630R

I recently set up SurvCE on my Carlson Explorer 600+ to connect to a Sokkia Set 630R EDM. I've managed to make a connection between the two devices, and the Bluetooth connection icon on the MEAS screen of the EDM indicated an active connection. However, whenever I go to the Surv menu and attempt to take a reading or check my backsite angle, it shows "taking reading #1" for about ten seconds, followed by an error screen reading "error reading data." I'm still fairly new to using this, so any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it could be a baud rate issue. although your bluetooth is able to connect, you might want to check the baud rate setting on the instrument and then check the baud rate setting in the data collector. if i remember correctly, the default for sokkia is usually 9600, but could have been changed.

How would one check to see what the baud rate is set at in their allegro cx with SurvCE 2.05?

I am also having the same problems with my 630R and the bluetooth in my allegro cx. It just seems to be giving the error when I am staking out though. If I am just shooting topo or something it doesn't give me errors.
When I first start to stake and take the first "read" shot the screen flashes on the instrument about 6 times before the edm actually takes a shot to the prism. Not sure if this has something to do with it or not or if that is a separate problem.
Any help on this would be great!

I am getting the "error reading data" error as well when I use the Carlson Mini and do stakeout after a few points. I then either have to get out of stakeout and go back in or sometimes have to shut down the mini all together. What a hassle. Must be a bug in there somewhere if both the Mini and the CX do it for different people.
