Support for Leica DNA Levels

Currently SurvCE 2.x supports only 1 digital level, the Sokiia SDL.

I would like to see more levels brought into the fold.

Specifically, I am interested in the Leica DNA series.

The parameters to talk to, control , and read data from the DNA levels are explained in this short file: http://www.dcn.davis.ca.us/go/jhframe/Leica%20DNA%20GSI%20Format.pdf

The leveling routine and ability to control levels was something put forth as a SurvCE 2 selling point. Now on v2.07/8 I'd like to see it talk to at least the big players in the digital level field (specifically, mine  )

Talk to me Carlson.

I have a Leica Sprinter digital level, probably uses the same protocol as the DNA series, and it does a good job. I would like to be able to use the leveling routine in SurvCE if it would communicate with the level.

DNA and Sprinter

Since it has an RS232 interface, and if it complies with the GSI-8 format, I'm pretty sure it would either work the same, or only need a slight tweak to be working. If you can find the same type of sytax deescription for commanding the Sprinter (and confirmation that it talks GSI-8), please post here and/or e-mail to me. I'll forward along with my previous request via e-mail to ask that the Sprinter Series be included.

I sent your pdf over to the programmers and they did say they have this on the wishlist, just have not had the time to get it in there yet. Thanks for the link and patience.

So, where do we stand on an interface for the DNA level; further up the wish-list :?:
