Which data collector?

Postby ColC » Mon Jun 08, 2009 12:33 am

I am about to retire my old and trusted hp200lx with tds96 data collector. I want to take full advantage of the SurvCE software. In my enquiries so far I have been advised that the Windows Mobile based collectors are having problems with SurvCe, in particular, the DXF files.

Currently I am considering the Allegro CX, MX and the Surveyor+. Has anyone encountered the dxf problem or others with Windows mobile?

I've been using an Allegro CX with CE.net 4.20 operating system for a few years with no problems to speak of. The problems that I have had were resolved with firmware updates. No problems with dxf files.
The Allegro may be more expensive than some other boxes, but it is a good unit. I think that the Carlson Surveyor is made by Juniper Systems, also, so it is probably a good solid unit. I can't comment on the operating system for it, though.
