I upgraded to SurvCE 2.50 and the first time I tried, I was able to connect to my instrument using the georadios. However just one time, then it wouldn't communicate the next time I started a job. I finally found that if I turn off SurveCE, the Explorer II, the Georadio, and disconnect the cable to the radio. Then reverse the procedure: plug in radio, do a fresh start of SurvCE, configure the total station all again, it will communicate. But what a waste of time untill I figured that process out. Seems to be some bug in the program. Before I figured this all out, I had reinstalled 2.09 in the explorer to see if there was some other problem, but it connected every time. So... the problem is with 2.50. But at least this seems to be a work around for now.

Tech support called and talked to me at length, the problem was operator error, not 2.50 SurvCE. It works just fine, if one follows the correct procedure.
