There is a neat option in the Stake Option which if you are unaware of could cause a problem. In the Stake Out points screen if you select point in direction and go down to the box H.Distance you can use the left/ right to select H.offset instead. I could not see a mention in the manual and the only indication of its existence is a > above the box. The > is used extensively by the TDS software but it highlights when you drop in the box.

This discovery caused my surveyor some stress when trying to project an offset a small distance onto a brick wall. It was only that he was observant enough to see on the screen that the calculated point was offset to the line and not a production of the line. It took a email to support to discover the existence of the option.
