SURVCE ON RANGER 3?

Postby tstrickland » Mon Aug 06, 2012 10:10 pm

Is anyone running survce on one of the new(er) rangers?
If so, any problems?
I'm looking at the possibility of a new box.
This one looks attractive, but I don't need any new problems.
thanks,
JTS

never mind. There is a build for this box, so no doubt there are users.
Still not settled on what to do.

I had good success with an allegro cx, just slower. used it till the touch screen died. Replaced it with an mx, but not satisfied with it at all. It tends to jump around on its own when selecting files, etc. I need something that performs better that is also tough. Also used a couple explorers, not a bad box, just not rugged as I want. Maybe a carlson surveyor, they're supposed to be tuff.

There's always the Carlson Supervisor or a ToughBook. Both work very well I hear.

They are interesting. I would like to take a closer look at one or both. I would have to be able to xfer my existing survce license, though.

Your SurveCE should run on the Supervisior I believe.
If you go with the Toughbook, upgrade to the Carlson Field pack. Gives you great data collection, and all the power of Carlson Survey to include F2F as you shoot the data.
If you ever get down Jackson way, see about getting Chris Pesnell to show you what can be done with the system we use. It's a really cool setup. 8)
