X-Port compatibility

Postby Vincent Popish » Wed Aug 29, 2012 3:29 pm

Will Carlson X-Port work with windows 7? The real question is: Can I communicate with my Explorer II?

Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't know why you couldn't.

I'm using 64-bit Win7 and communicating with both a TSC2 and Carlson Surveyor+ through Windows Mobile Device Center using a USB cable, serial cable or Bluetooth device. This is the Win7 replacement for ActivSync.

The device shows up as a drive on File Explorer or you can start ActiveSync on the device and use the download functions in X-port as you usually do.

The nice thing is, to back up all of your data at once, you can drag and drop the entire Surv-CE jobs folder from the device to a different computer using File Explorer.

I have been using USB cable with a Carlson surveyor + without any problem. I did have the bluetooth working initially but lost the connection somehow and I never had success getting it back.
