SurvCE 3 won't install on Allegro MX?

Anyone had any problems installing SurvCE 3.0 on an Allegro MX? I'm using activesync on an XP home PC.
When I get to installing on the mobile device, it gets about two bars progress, and then loses the connection, and says,
"The mobile device is no longer connected. Please connect the device and run application manager again."
I've tried it about 4 times, rebooted, etc, all with the same results.
Any suggestions?

My Mx installed fine. No hitches. I have Windows 7 , not xp.

HERE'S THE FIX!

I had to check the box for "Advanced Network Functionality" under Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC icon.
Support also sent me a link to install the "Activesync patch" from their Knowledge Base article #765.
It still wouldn't install until I checked the box, though.
It's working now,!
