I have a Carlson Explorer. I purchased it used, and have upgraded to SurvCE 2.61. The internal 256MB disk has a number of files associated with prior owner that I would like to delete. I'm concerned that I might delete an important program file. What files can be safely deleted from the internal disk?

It's been a while since I had an explorer, but if I remember correctly, all the job files are stored by default in a separate directory, so you should be safe to delete all the files in that directory. Job files will be *.crd, *.inf, *.loc, *.not, *.rw5, *.stk, *.sys. They might have a geoid file there, too, but it shouldn't affect you if in a different area. You could copy all the files in the directory to your computer prior to deletion, probably be a good idea.

Terry,

Thanks for your reply. I've got to figure out how to get set up with an email when someone replies to a message I post....

In any case, thanks for your help. I've managed to remove the unnecessary files....
