Draw Locate Points Problem

Can anyone tell me why when I use the draw locate command, draw point group (or any point for that matter) the process is extremely slow and when the command if finally complete there are two sets of point numbers and descriptions (purposely not plotting elevations) one has a font style that looks like arial, the other like the old "standard" style? This is really beginning to frustrate me.

"two sets of point numbers", checked the "Erase Duplicates", should fix the problem.
"not plotting elevations", use layer control, under plot column use mouse left clicked to disable from plotting.
