create spot elev label error: "no surface data at point"

Postby cburns0088 » Tue Aug 04, 2015 7:48 pm

Hi all,
I beleive this started after a Carlson update but cant be 100% as I didnt use this feature for some time after the update.

I cannot create a spot elevation on a surface. I get "no surface data at point" error everytime. If I go to 'Surface - Traingulation Surface Manager - Surface Manager' I can see the triangulation just fine and I confirm I am clicking with in the tin. But still I get "no surface data at point". I have tested this on a few diff projects to ensure its not the dwg or tin files.

Any Ideas?

thanks

Never experienced that problem. Using Intellicad? Version Carlson/Autocad?

Are you useing the command from the 3D Data pull down > Spot Elevations > Spot Elevation By Surface Model? If so, be sure under the "Source of Surface Model" you have "Surface FIle" selected. And your Placement Method is on "Pick Points". Lastely be certainly that you are selecting the correct tin when prompted.
