Re: Object linking

That's it, the points were created in an older drawing, before the
toggle
was on. So, I guess I have to erase all points, then relocate them to
have
this feature work.

Thanks

Was the "Group point entities" toggle ON before you located the
points?

Just
to explain how it works:

If the "Group point entities" toggle is ON, then when you locate
points,

it
performs the additional task of placing the AutoCAD point entity, the
SurvCADD attribute block and the SurvCADD point symbol into an
anonymous
group. Whether they are all selected when you select a single entity
depends
on the status of the sysvar PICKSTYLE as mentioned earlier.

Also, the reactor that actually tells the CRD file to update (when
"Link
Points with CRD file" is ON) is attached to the AutoCAD point entity
of a
SurvCADD point. So even with "Link Points" toggled ON, if you fail to
move
the point entity, the CRD will not update.

Keep in mind that the "Link Points with CRD" option must be turned ON
*before* locating the points also.

If none of this helps any, post the drawing in the customer-files NG,
and

we
can take a look at it.

Everything is set correctly. Group toggle is on. I hit Ctrl-A as
check,

it
was ON. PICKSTYLE is set to 1. It is still not moving all 3 entities
that
pertain to the point.

Jason, make sure AutoCAD 'Group' mode is toggled
ON. Ctrl-A is the shortcut to toggle group mode on
and off. Group mode is controlled by the AutoCAD
system variable PICKSTYLE. A setting of 1 or 3
enables group mode.

It doesn't appear that the configure
survcadd--general settings--object
linking--group point entities is working
correctly. I believe the command is
supposed to select all Survcadd entities when I
select any part of a point.
I had the boxed checked, along with the link
points to CRD file, then tried
to use the Autocad move command. I selected the
point number only and also
tried the symbol only, neither moved any other
part of the point along with
it and the coordinate never changed. Yes, I know
there is a Survcadd move
point command that does move the points
correctly.

Re: BREAK CONTOURS... AGAIN...

I've read this post, but I have nothing different than the previous
discussion of this topic. Sorry.

I read this the day you posted it, but I'm finally responding so you
know
that someone did read it outside of Carlson.

I change "break contour at label insertion" so that it is UN-checked
in

the
configure survcad.. but I open a drawing and it reverts to breaking
them..
why? can I change this setting with in a lisp or dcl file or some
file...

so
it never turns itself back on... please I beg of you guys at survcad
to

help
me with this....

Re: Calculate offsets

Postby Jason » Mon Jul 02, 2001 5:44 pm

I'm back to this question again. I still can't backspace without it
appending numbers to the end.

Also, could Carlson make this routine not break out of the routine if
the
coordinate doesn't exist (it goes to the print screen if the coordinate
doesn't exist). I had to type in a offset report several times this
morning
because of typos or point number that didn't exist (I wrote the wrong
number
down).

I can't backspace to correct numbers when entering a point rangein
CES.

When
I try to backspace it does not erase the previous number and sometimes
appends more numbers on to the end. I had the same problem with SC2000
as
well.

Jason I like the flip idea (f) but I just use the a180 and then use a
field
angle or calc angle.
