Curve Table Size

Postby Jack Goodrich » Thu Jul 05, 2001 7:19 pm

I read the previous posts about all the white space in the table. I
called
about this last year but nothing seems to have been done. I see 2
problems:
(1) The headers are not editable, and (2) The width of each column is
based
on the AutoCAD txt.shx font and not the current font. My suggestion for
this
was to: (1) Make the headers customizable. This routine already exists
in
the annot curve routines, and (2) Make the column widths customizable
with a
preview. There are other programs that do this already but I love my
SurvCADD!
Here's what I'm doing currently. First I survcadd explode (to inserted
layer) the curve chart in the drawing. I then edit the headers to say
what I
want: Delta, Radius, Length, Tangent, Chord, and Chord Bearing.
Previously,
I have created a block of the chart, lines only, with the spacing that
fits
my text. I insert this block over the existing chart. I erase the chart
that
survcadd created, and then ortho move the text to fit each column in my
newly inserted chart block.
This is a lot of trouble but I HAVE to do it on my final plats as space
is
at a premium. I calculated that the chart surcadd creates is approx.
1.75
times the width I need. In other words, .75 of the space in the chart is
white space.
Has there been a fix for this? I was told last year over the phone that
this
item would be addressed in an upcoming build, but have not seen anything
yet.

Thanks,
Jack

I have found that the width is dictated in the fas file and that would
need to be changed by
Carlson. the headers are adjustable because it is a block that is in the
support folder on survcad..
(or someplace in there)

I found this out when Jason had similar questions

Jon,

I have edited the Curvtabl.dwg before with disastrous results. It drove
the
program bananas. It always changes it back to the original one at some
point, which is another mystery.

Thanks for responding,
Jack

Another problem I just remembered is that the curve table routine does
not
use the current font as far as width and oblique. It will only use the
original font file for info. This may be something that is autocadically
impossible to do, I don't know.

Thanks again,
Jack

although... using the command TDEF one has the ability to change the
font, label size... etc.. for
both the table and the label text..

you will also need to set these as defaults by using the CONFIG_SCAD
command... then click the cogo
button and then the line/arc table defaults button and change them
there... this will redefine the
blocks needed...

I have tried all of these about a year ago and again after the latest
patch
with no successful results. Carlson will have to provide a patch and
that is
the point of this post.

Thank you,
Jack
