CES Update

Postby Jack Goodrich » Thu Jul 19, 2001 7:04 pm

I have just installed the most recent update. The email from Carlson
said
the revision date was 7-11-01, but the file date on the web site was
June
something. Is the real update date 6-22-01? Anyway, I noticed that
neither
of the problems I reported a year ago have been addressed. The "FOLLOW
POLYLINE" routine in Twist Point Attributes still does not work
correctly.
It rotates EACH attribute around its own origin point instead of
rotating
ALL attributes around the actual point, as the other options do. This is
extremely important for me when preparing stake out data for the field
crews. Another problem is the "white space" in the Curve Table. The way
it
creates the table now, I have to explode the block to (I), erase the
linework and import a line chart of my own. This is really time
consuming.
Curve Table options should also include what I want to be in the table
header. I shouldn't have to edit the attributes of the header block EACH
time I create a curve table. The fix here, simply put, would be more
control
over how the Curve and Line Tables appear, so that NO editing is
necessary
after the chart is created. Two things need to be added: (1) Let me
configure what the headers should say (No. Delta Radius Length etc), and
(2)
Let me decide how WIDE each column should be, so that when the chart
appears
on my sheet, the chart linework is not twice as big as it should be,
showing
too much "white space", and not being able to fit the chart on the sheet
without exploding it and modifying it. The purpose of software is to
remove
repetitive actions from daily work. Having said that, I still think
Carlson
is the best Surveying software on the market, and the program updates
are
greatly appreciated. There are OTHER software companies, whose names I
won't
mention, that charge you for updating their program mistakes.

Note: Response sent directly to Jack. Twist Point Attributes routine
corrected as Jack requested.
This will be available in next build.
