Am I missing something, I would like to translate my coord. file to new
elevations and ignore the zero elevations. My calc prop corners and
other
points sometimes get adjusted along with the file causeing contouring
problems. Or is there a way to not have an elevation with calc point?

Edit->Change Elevation->Ignore zero elevation(<Yes>/No)?Press Enter
[A]bsolute or [D]ifferential Change <A>:Press D
Select Entities for elevation change
Points->CooRDinate File Utilities->Update CRD File from Drawing
DTM-Contour->Triangulate and Contour->activate Ignore Zero Elevations
Another option is to use the special code NE in FTF(a point with this
special code is located at zero elevation)
