Looking for a way to automate my process

Postby Matthew Timion » Mon Jul 07, 2003 6:57 pm

Imagine (for whatever reason) that I want to offset all of my pads (all pads
are closed polylines) .05 feet inwards.

Right now I am using the command : OFFSET3D or OFFSET and then simply
deleting the previous pad. This can be very time consuming, especially if I
have a few hundred pads in a job.

Is there a way to automate this process? Can I write a script that would do
this? Is this something that I can do with LISP? If so, does anyone care
to show me HOW to do it? This would seriously knock a few hours off of our
job time, which is worth everything in the world.

Thanks in advance.

this isnt excactly what you are looking for but if you have the express tools
you can select multiple objects to offset but you have to pick the direction to
offset for each object. it would speed things up a bit though.

other than that I would check in the acad custumization group for a lisp routine.
