Pan & Zoom in viewports Carlson 2010

I have recently re-installed civil 3D 2008 and Carlson 2010 to take care of an issue with tables missing the 1st line. I have a problem with panning and zooming in viewports and somewhat in model space. It is much slower in Carslon on C3D 2008 as opposed to in C3D 2008 itself within the same drawings. what setting could be causing this?

Two suggestions;

First for the table issue, in Annotate>Line/Curve Tables>Table Defaults, toggle OFF "Use Table Entity" in the lower left corner.

Second, Go to Settings>Acad Options and then the Selection tab and toggle OFF the option for "When no command is active" under Selection Preview.

Let us know if this doesn't get you going.

The table issue was taken care of with the re-install of Civil3D and Carlson. The selection option has been turned off since I re-installed. So this hasn't helped the problem. Any other ideas? Again, this only happens while in Carlson. When I am in base Civil3D I don't have any problems.
