DRAW-LOCATE POINTS

Postby tstrickland » Mon Feb 07, 2011 5:34 pm

It would be helpful to have the option to draw points that are not present in the drawing. There may be a way to do this, but I haven't found it.
I realize that I can draw all, but often have existing points on a lot of different layers.

If you look in the "Draw-Locate Points" dialog box you will see near the bottom the following buttons:

Draw Point Group & Screen Pick

Try those and see if that gets you where you want to go.

I'm using Carlson Survey 2010 Embedded, but it also proves true for AutoCAD with Carlson Survey 2008.

Thanks, guys, but these options won't work unless I knew which points are not drawn in the current drawing.

However, I just found how to do it:

FYI, under coordinate file utilities > Update dwg from crd file, There is an option to Draw Points from Crd file that are not in drawing, and you can specify the range of points to process. It will tell you how many points were updated and how many were drawn. There is also an option to erase points in the drawing that are not in the crd file.

Just what I was looking for!
Thanks again.
