.FLD files

Postby tdhorgan » Fri Sep 21, 2012 6:48 pm

I am currently setting up our Field to Finish codes.

I would like to incorporate my own custom point symbols into my .FLD but I can't find a way to do this. The only point symbol options I can find are the preloaded ones found in:
...AppData\Roaming\Carlson Software\Carlson2012\R18.2_X64\SUP

If I try to add my own point drawings to this directory, I can't see them in the dropdown menu.

Also, does anyone know where I might find samples of others .FLD files (or be willing to share their own?)

Any comments or suggestions are apprecitated. Thanks.

You need to add your point symbols to the Symbol library first. Then they should be accessible from FTF

Yep, look under SETTINGS for the "Symbol Library" tab. It's fairly self-explanitary. Make a folder (namr it "MINE" or whatever) and import all your symbols. Everything should work now.
Be SURE to save a copy of the file called "symbols.dat" that you will find, usually, under Program Files/Carlson Survey/User Template. That way when you get a new computer or a new virus and the symbol manager no longer is available, you can copy your master file on the new computer and everything will be reset.
