Importing Existing LDD Point Groups

We have a large project that we have ground shots taken in the same area over a period of 8 years to monitor the elevation changes and volume changes. In LDD, the gound shots were controlled by point groups. All of the ground shots have the same raw description. When I import the Land XML, the point groups do not come into Carlson. However, when I open up the Land XML file itself, the point groups are in there. Is there a way to import existing point groups other than manually recreating them?
