Does anyone know why the box for editing does not appear when I double click on any text for editing. This only happened a few days ago, it was working fine before, maybe I turned off something ? I am using Carlson 2013 with intellicad 7

Try filedia, set it to 1 to show dialog boxes.

I TRIED SETTING IT TO 1 BUT STILL NOT OPENING

Number One, I am on the AutoCad embedded version, but the fix should be similar.....you may just have to hunt some.
Look under the SETTINGS tab. Is there an Intellicad Options selection? If so click on it and look under OPTIONS for a USER PREFERENCES tab. On that tab there should be a WINDOWS STANDARD BEHAVIOR tab. There you should find the DOUBLE CLICK EDITING box. Make sure it is checked.
This will give you a dialog box for editing your point blocks and if you click on just text, it will put you in ddedit mode.
The names may be different, but there should be an Intellicad options setting tab that contains the fix to your problem.

I should have read your post more thoroughly. The "filedia" variable won't fix your problem, maybe Dent's solution will work.

I TRIED THOSE OPTIONS AND STILL CANNOT GET THE EDITOR TO OPEN, MAYBE THERE IS SOMEWAY TO ATTACH THE EDITOR/

I think I saw a fix for this in the Carlson Knowledge Base, if you haven't looked there yet.
