This is the message I get when trying to access a Carlson crd file.

Waiting 15 seconds to obtain file lock...
Error 1: Could not open file: Z:\AMA HBD JOBS\8000JOBS\A8086\A8086.crd
It might be read-only or in use by another application.
Error: unable to open file Z:\AMA HBD JOBS\8000JOBS\A8086\A8086.crd

ZAK format files work fine. It's more annoying than anything, but does cause me to have to work around it.

This happens on most all crd files, not just one in particular, so they can't all be in use or read-only.

Nevermind.

We just made a global decision to abandon the crd format and use mdb files from now on so we are not welded to a proprietary coordinate format like we have been with the ZAK files.

I had the same situation. It was the permissions for the folders.
