Carlson2020 ICAD woes

Postby avoidthelloyd » Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:04 pm

I have been cruising with Carlson2018 ICAD just fine since early 2018. I installed 2019 but didn't use it. I kept my upgrades paid for and current and decided to leap to 2020. Uh-oh.

It don't like my 2018 profile. I can open several drawings, but after I load the 2018 profile, any drawing I open after that, the Carlson menu commands aren't recognized and none of the drawing settings such as SPC are set and the CRD file is not connected.

I uninstalled 2018 and 2019 with no help. In fact, it messed 2018 up so that it wouldn't even open and was unusable.

ASUS laptop i7-7500U CPU 2.70GHz
16GB RAM
64-bit Windows 10

Anyone else having a rough time?

I've been working with the 2020 version on and off for a couple of weeks now. So far things look pretty good with the testing I've done. I have not tried importing a profile from 2018. The settings migrating tool is a good idea. I did find I needed to add a couple of paths to the Intellicad settings but overall it went pretty smooth.

A bonus for me is importing CG-DOS drawings is working much better.

Is there any idea which quarter the 2020 version is going to be released in?

Hey Wolfinger, it is available now: http://www.carlsonsw.com/products/office-software/carlson2020/
I've been running on and off for a couple of weeks and am ready to start using 2020 in place of 2019.
