LICENSE CHECKOUT HELP!!

I am trying to checkout a server license to use on a new laptop... with no success!!! i am following Carlsons Knowledge Base Topic ID # 507 to with WCommute to the letter with the only kicker not mentioned therein being the "locking code string". That seemed to be a easy fix utilizing the WRCommute program which provides a "locking code for the current machine". Problem is when i copy and paste that code to the WCommute program I get the following error... "SentinelM: Error(86): Invalid remote locking code string" WTH!!! anyone have any thoughts??????
