Layer States Manager

Postby monksjm » Mon Feb 11, 2013 8:24 pm

We still currently use AutoCAD with our Carlson Civil Suites, but would like to someday move completely over to Carlson with Intellicad. I've currently installed the Civil Suite 2013 with Intellicad 7.2 in hopes of learning the software in my free time. The MAJOR issue we're having is the inability to use our Layer States. Every single one of our plan drawings includes at a minimum 3 or more layer states that we use on a regular basis. Is this something Carlson/Intellicad plans to address in their attempt to compete with the big boys? It's essential in our drawings.

Set your layers, etc the way you want them in your *.dwt file. That file should be useable in Carlson/Intellicad.

in the LAYERS PROPERTIES MANAGER

find the LAYER STATES MANAGER icon

you can import your saved layer states there.

This cannot be done in Intellicad...There is no icon in Intellicad. Layer States is not listed in the help either. There is a lisp routine from Autocad that i can get the files from, but I cannot run the list routine in Carlson, i'm assuming because it does not use the same commands as autocad would...Layer Manager.

Try typing
LAYERSTATE
at the command line.

I am using Survey2013 w/embedded, sorry if that doesn't help.

It must be an intellicad thing.

That's just my point. It's in AutoCAD. It's an AutoCAD command. It is not an Intellicad or Carlson command. But it NEEDS to be if Intellicad even wants to attempt to compete.

The only way I have found around it is to set up the layer states again, then in VIEW/LAYER STATES/SAVE, once the are set up and saved they can be restored.
