When I open C&G for Autocad it always defaults to the CG2004 profile. How
can I always open C&G with the Autocad profile I created?

Not sure about CG, but with regular AutoCAD, you can specify the name of
the profile in the startup icon. Like this:

c:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2006\AutoCAD.exe /p "use this profile"

You could rename your profile "CG2004" after copying and renaming the
default CG2004 to something else. Or simply right-click the desktop icon,
select properties and change the "target" to your profile name as suggested.
My target is: "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2002\acad.exe" /b "C:\Program
Files\CGSurvey for AutoCAD\support\cg_startup" /p cg2004 /t
d:\survdata\1proto
where /p cg2004 is my modified original profile and /t is my default
template drawing.
