Crashing

Postby SWB » Thu Jan 30, 2003 11:16 pm

Every time I try to add a new raw data file to an existing job intellicad
crashes while processing the new raw data. The c&g editor works fine during
editing. The program boots me out while processing the new co-ordinates.
Usually the co-ordinates are created and the crash occurs before points are
plotted in intellicad. The program also crashes sometimes when listing the
raw data file in printfile. I have tried several different raw data files
and they all crash. This is the message that is shown, "icad.exe has
generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the
program. an error log is being created" . I have version 50.50.03 and have
tried reloading the program. Any ideas ?

The problem is probably this-

If you have an "empty line" at the end of your raw data the program will
crash and burn. When entering data the program automatically brings up a new
line for data entry. If you are like me you just exit out of the program and
go to reduce the file. This last line needs to be removed before reducing
the data file or the program will crash.

Hope this helps!

There is no empty line at the end of my file unless it is hidden somehow.
This crashing has occurred with several different raw files as I add new
information to an on going job. I can only assume that it is my intellicad
file that is causing the problem. I've run some older raw files with a
different job and every thing works fine.

John:
I tried your suggestion with no luck.
The raw data editor works just fine on other jobs jobs I'm working on. I can
process new data with out any problem, the problem is just with this one
very large job when adding new raw data to it. Something must be corrupt
within this certain file I'm working on.
