CG - 7.0 Inserts importation

Postby Sam Clemons » Fri Dec 24, 2004 2:39 am

Regarding CG 7.0 I am new to CG windows upgrading from CG Dos

When I try to open a .pl1 file, none of the text from inserts comes in. I
get this error...."Error drawing text for symbol" and the linework comes in,
but none of the text. Any thoughts???

I am also having a lot of trouble just initiating a drawing. The manuel
supplied (6.0 Manuel, will a 7.0 manuel be supplied) gives very little
instruction in this area. Too bad they don't have any tutorial or examples
of how to start a project. Any where you can point me regarding this issue.
Thanks,

Sam

Sam,

I am trying out CG7 as well. I can't open a PL1 file at all. Doesn't
really matter to us though, we haven't drawn anything in DOS since '98.
You can create a drawing in DOS that has all of your inserts. Then
create a DXF from there. Import the DXF into CG windows and create a
template drawing. If I can help any more, let me know.

I have been doing that stacy, setting up a sheet, title block, legend,
certification, graphic scale, etc. dxf out, dxf in, save as template. C&G
would do well to add a section to manuel or help file on template
creation/use.
