Defaults or Go By?

Postby monksjm » Wed Jan 09, 2008 3:02 pm

Is there a place we can edit the default settings for things like layer naming or can you only change and save those settings?

Is there a "go-by" on project folder setup? Where things should be stored and what folders should be used and name?

For the editing/changing of things like layer names, try clicking:

Start --> Run. In the resulting dialog box, key-in:

%appdata%\Carlson Software\Carlson2008\R17.1\USER

I believe the files that contain things like layer names have *.INI extensions.

Also, you can toggle the "Skip Startup Wizard Next Time" via the Settings -- Carlson Configure -- General Settings. The location of files can be set via the Project/Data Folders button.

I hope this helps.

You might also try a template drawing for the layers. Get all the layers you want created and do file-save as and set the file type to drawing template. Then when you select file-new and it prompts for a template, select the one you created and all the layers will be ready to go.
