can you change the setting where carlson deletes the old annotation if you annotate with a different setting (ie i use the dist on top and want to put the azimuth on the bottom but when i click on the azimuth annotate it deletes the distance annotation)

the same happens for commands like stapl, if i run it with odd stations and then run it again with even stations carlson deletes the odd stations

how can i change this?

Starting from the top menu:
Settings->Carlson Configure->General Settings->
The top center section is Oject Linking->
Do you have "Link Labels with Linework" checked?

nothing is checked there except " group point entities"

it only happens when it is the same line ( there is no dist on top and azimuth on bottom)

also sometimes we have two distance on the same line for different scale viewports

This is interesting. I can reproduce what you are describing for the AZ + dist. To me, this shouldn't happen if that box in settins is not checked.

However, with stapl, I do not get the program erasing entities. I can add new stationing without it deleting previous text UNLESS I have the "link labels with linework" checked.
