Different scale for viewports, want same linetype appearance

Postby Rick Lundborn » Mon Sep 22, 2008 7:47 pm

Hey Everyone,

My company just got pinched by A###Desk and decided to migrate to Carlson2009/intellicad.

My question is this, is there a way to have a viewport that is 50 scale on one tab, a viewport that is 20 scale on another and have enitities using the same linetype in both viewports and paperspace display the same way using Carlson/intellicad?

For example a dashed line drawn in paperspace with a 20 scale viewport below it with a dashed line in model space in it, with a 50 scale viewport with a dashed line in model space in it, all 3 lines display the same spacing of dashes when viewed from paper space.

Thanks in advance,

This sounds like more of a CAD issue than a Carlson issue. You are probably going to have to adjust the LTSCALE in your drawing and then use the PSLTSCALE system variable to control paper space linetype scaling.

Setting PSLTSCALE to 0 = no special linetype scaling.
Setting PSLTSCALE to 1 = viewport scaling governs linetype scaling.

Try this first and see if it gives you the results you want.

1. Set LTSCALE = 1
2. Switch to a layout view containing your viewport.
3. Set PSLTSCALE = 1
4. REGENALL

Repeat steps 2-4 for each layout in the drawing. These variables are saved with the drawing (you may have to use this procedure in future drawings). This procedure works in versions of AutoCAD from 2000 to 2009. Give it a try to see if it works in Intellicad.

It appears PSLTSCALE is broken in intellicad enabled Carlson 2009.

I will contact Carlson about this so they can add it to any upcoming updates/fixes.

This failure in IntelliCAD has been reported to the Carlson Development staff and is being addressed. Expect a resolution in the next release of IntelliCAD.
