Profile from 3D Polyline

When I create a profile from 3D polyline i get a prompt to "Station by another reference centerline [Yes/<No>]? y" and I select my centerline that I used to create the centerline file. The profile of the line does not look like the elevations and grade of the pad that I am profiling. Like it is not stationing based on the CL file. When I select no for the station by reference centerline the profile then looks correct, but it does not station correctly in order to draw on the grid. Does anyone know the solution or sequence for drawing these profiles???
