I am BRAND NEW to Carlson. Have received my first .DWG file from engineer. I am trying to save it to my Carlson Project Folder. When I say save as (new file name + dwg extension) it says invalid data, file has been saved with errors. What does this mean, have I done something wrong or is file incompatible, any suggestions appreciated.

It's hard to tell without checking out the drawing. What is the source of the drawing? My guess would be there are some incompatible entities within the drawing that are not recognized by Carlson for whatever reason.

Run "audit" and see if it fixes any of the errors. If that doesn't work then "recover" the drawing and resave under a different job name (archiving the original drawing). If that doesn't work then create a new drawing within Carlson and copy all of the entities from the corrupt drawing file over. This should be the last resort but it will more than likely solve your problems.
