make small GRD from a large GRD

Postby randalf » Tue Sep 20, 2011 5:44 pm

Is there a way to grab a small piece of a large grid file and save it as a new grid file? I successfully downloaded a DEM, but it is quad-size, much too big for the area I need. I would like to use just a portion of the DEM, so it is faster and easier to work with.

Here is what I tried: In the Grid Utilities, I imported my DEM to a GRD, then loaded my GRD, then used the Change Position tool to define my small area, the Plot Grid to create 3d faces. I then *attempted* to create a new GRD from those 3d faces, and eventually I ran out of memory.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
