Some Surface menu commands don't work

Postby randalf » Thu Sep 22, 2011 6:37 pm

My Carlson commands are behaving strangely. It seems like it has simply "lost" some of the commands.

On the Surface menu, some surface commands appear to be "unknown commands". For example, Triangulate (TRI) works fine, but Triangulation Utilities (TINUTIL) does not. Contour from Tri Mesh (CONTOUR) does not work, but Contour from Grid (CNTGRID) and Contour from TIN file (CNTRTIN) work correctly. This behavior is the same after rebooting and restarting and applying the July update from the website.

The following commands are "unknown":
TINUTIL - triangulation file utilities
SURFACE_MGR - Triangulation Surface Manager (and all submenu items)
PLZONE - Tag Predefined Boundaries (also PLZONEID, NOZONE)
CONTOUR - Contour from ... Triangular Mesh
TRIVOL1 - One Triangulation SUrface Volume (also TRIVOL, TRIVOL3)
QUICKCTR - Quick Contours

Has anyone ever heard of this? Maybe there's a file that got hosed? Is this a case where I need to bite the reinstall bullet? I don't know.

Thanks,

Randalf

Does it happen if you restart your CAD software?

I have had issues where commands suddenly stop working but usually restarting my CAD software fixes the problem.

It's a minor inconvenience that happens maybe once every couple of months and usually when I have a lot of drawings open at the same time.

I've restarted Autocad, rebooted, and installed the patch, but none of those had any effect. I checked a co-worker's installation and their commands work fine. I guess I'll just reinstall today.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like something has been corrupted.
