Importing a a surface from Google Earth

Has anyone tried doing this, and if so how do you go about it?

Yes but my results haven't always been stellar. Last time I tried it the elevation assigned to the surface were about 1000 feet different than the elevation shown when hovering over the same location on Google Earth.

Also since it is pulling the elevations from a grid. If you are sampling an area around creeks it will not represent them very well.

The help file for the command thoroughly explains how to go through the process.

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't been able to find the help topic before, but I found it now. Any chance that grade issue you had was due to metric vs english units?

Look in Civil Module | Surface Menu | Import Google Earth Surface or use the Search tab in the help to find Google Earth.
