Curve table information

Postby Jason » Tue May 29, 2001 11:57 pm

Is there a way to edit the curve table information, such as heading or
width of columns? I need Curve, Radius, Arc, Chord Bearing, Chord,
Tangent,
and Delta, but the table width is too wide for my paper. Of course, I
can't
explode the table without getting all the attribute tags.

Arc length could be labeled just Arc or Chord length could be labeled
just
Chord.

if you have the bonus / express tools command BURST you can explode with
out
losing the tag variables.

That's fine, but can it be adjusted within Survcadd?

Just something that may need to be resolved within Survcadd. I'll have
to
BURST then STRETCH the lines where I want. Seems to be steps that I
shouldn't have to take to get the look I want.

it seems as if you would need to open the curvetbl.dwg and change the
width
of the cells there... (make a back up first)
then see if that will change the width for the actual table information.
you
will need to edit the header text so it will fit.. I have not yet found
where that is.

to have it set to a default "CHORD" vs. "CHORD LENGTH" I think you would
have to change a setting in the lisp routine if the file TDEF.fas. since
I
do not know how to open such a file, I can not help any more then
that...

I found an old TDEF.LSP file and know where to change it but since I
cant
open the fas file that does us no good..

Again guys, this is not the outlet for immediate technical support. The
discussion groups are primarily for user to user contact. Carlson
technical
support may offer a solution to a problem posted, but usually not
immediately. Your first option for technical support is to call
606-564-5028, your next option is to e-mail our support inbox directly,
the
address is [support@carlsonsw.com]

I am not in the office today, nor do I have access to the resources
needed
to answer this question, but since you are talking about modifying the
source code from a .FAS file, you will need to call Dave Carlson @
617-254-5429 and see if he can/will either:
a) Make the change for you and give you an updated file.
b) Give you the source code so that you can perform your own
modifications.

(Keep in mind that Dave IS NOT a primary source for technical support,
you
should always contact our main office first - 606-564-5028)

I forgot about the support email address. I usually post on here to give
you
guys the chance of answering at your own leisure and without the
pressure .
I would like to see quicker turn around on some responses, but I'm sure
your
swamped on the phone lines. I'll have to remember to email, when I need
a
quicker response. I usually call if something has totally bombed.

Will emailing support get quicker responses?
It seems that promoting the newsgroups and sharing common issues would
benefit everyone including tech support staff.

Are Jon and I the only other users using the newsgroups? Anyone else out
there?
I'm constantly exploring new buttons/options to see if they can help me,
that's why I have so many questions and suggestions on here.

I usually check newsgroups 2-3 times a day, when I check for email.
Maybe
Carlson could promote the newsgroups to get more people on here and
alleviate some of the repetitive phone calls you may get. I'm sure a lot
of
people have never used newsgroups or even know they exist. I just
checked
the site and saw the suggestion form, I guess I need to fill out
everything
I've posted on the newsgroups myself?

I'll try emailing Dave and post his response on here for you Jon. Dave
did
fix spacing in the Stack Bearing/Distance commands under
Annotate-Angle/Distance pulldown in CES that I posted earlier and
emailed a
revised routine.

Last thing, Why do newsgroup messages disappear?
I have to reset the headers and re-download them to get all of them to
show
back up.

Jason

As an example, I'm seeing the cogo-design post (5 posts back) of
"Importing
points and more" with the first post being Randall McSwain's response on
5/2/2001 5:10 PM. I will need to reset the headers and re-download them
to
see everything again, then eventually some will disappear again. I'm
sure
there is some setting in Outlook Express/Internet Explorer to stop this,
but

Jason,

In Outlook Express menu: Tools-Options-Maintenance (tab).

There is an option to "compress messages in the background".

One option there is to "delete news messages X days after being
downloaded."

Mine is set to 5 days.
