I would like to select nodes with a particular descriptor in a selectable
area. Is this possible? I see options to do one or the other but not both.

You are correct, there is no way to do both using List Points. You *can* do this in Draw-Locate Points. So you could open an new empty drawing, import your polyline boundary, then use Draw-Locate Points and only draw the points that matched the description within the polyline boundary.
